The following information is based on our current printed leaflet. The Forum is made up of people who use community care services, carers and people who are regularly in touch with users and carers, e.g. representatives of relevant voluntary & statutory organisations. By carers, we mean people who look after a friend, relative or neighbour, not as a paid job. We aim to give service users and carers information and opportunities to effectively take part in the planning and development of care services. We provide a 'meeting place' (both real and virtual) where users and carers can exchange views, express concerns, gain information, initiate solutions, agree action, learn skills and meet service providers. We cover the rural areas of Inverness-shire as well as the city. We believe that community care services will work best if users and carers are involved in designing the way they are delivered. The government requires service providers to take account of the 'expertise' of the 'customers' of services. A whole variety of things according to your interest: tell us your experiences of care services (both positive and negative), receive our newsletter and share its information with others, attend our regular meetings, or occasional working groups on specific topics related to your experience, take part in surveys, speak at meetings, take part in staff training courses giving input on the user/carer perspective, help with the newsletter, etc. We are part of Highland Community Care Forum:
