Handyperson Scheme
The
aims of the service are to
Help
older members of the community, or those with community care needs,
maintain a better quality of life in their own home by providing
a small repair and assistance service.
To
involve unemployed volunteers, including volunteers with support
needs, in skills and personal development opportunities by providing
regular and structured work in the community.
- Do
you need help with small jobs in your home?
- How
can I help?
- Volunteers
are needed for the scheme.
- Can
your spare two hours a week?
- Do
you know anyone who could be a volunteer?
What
is a small repair service?
For
example, we can:
- Change
light bulbs
- Replace
smoke alarm batteries
- Fit
plugs
- Change
fuses
- Unblock
sinks
- Change
or hang curtains and pictures
- Moving
furniture within the house
