Connecting
Communities, like HCCF, is a means by which people in our
networks can speak out about their experiences of care and other
services. Because we deal with technologies, an essential part
of the process is giving network members access to these tools
and helping them develop appropriate skills in their use.
The
technologies we work in are: video and DVD, the internet and
the world-wide-web, design and print, presentation and audio-visual
aids (including event organisation), communications, IT systems
and networks.
Our
involvement can be as simple as explaining how a technology
works, or how best to instruct others to use it for you.
It
can mean helping people understand more about how to provide
information to be used.
It
can also mean working with groups and individuals in a way
that includes them in the planning, making and use of video,
websites or other materials.
Equally
it can be about creatiing an end-product for a client group
through providing a service for them in a way which readily
understands and responds to their special requirements.
