 Evaluating Our Work

How do we know we are doing a good job?

What we do can't easily be described in numbers. We are more interested in finding out what people think of the quality of our work so that we can get better.

We have begun to do this ourselves on a small scale - 10% of Helpline enquirers received an evaluation form. There was a 36% response rate and all were positive. We intend to monitor a larger sample of enquiries over the next year.

We have just learnt that the Carers Project has been nominated as 'really good and helpful' in the UK-wide Sharing Value Project being undertaken by the Social Policy Research Unit at York University, Barnardos and the Family Fund.

Last year HCCF was one of 3 organisations to go through a Highland Council Best Value Review of Information & Involvement Services.

486 people returned questionnaires -

88% were satisfied with HCCF as a whole

97% were satisfied with HUG

88% were satisfied with People First

91% were satisfied with the Carers Project

We are working on an Improvement Plan with Highland Council looking at using networks better / attracting more users and carers to Local Fora membership / better joint working with the statutory agencies.
