 Involving People

To be a representative and democratic organisation which involves users and carers at all levels within the organisation

What have we achieved?

HCCF's commitment to user and carer involvement comes from the top:

Through a new membership structure and bringing in a Board of Directors nominated by the Local Fora, the Carers Project and HUG.

Full membership of the company is open to the Local Fora and Projects. Other organisations and interested individuals can become Associate Members.

More and more users and carers are having a say in their own areas:

  • An Advisory Group for the Young Carers Project in Skye & Lochalsh.
  • A Steering Group to guide the Easter Ross and Black Isle Forum.
  • The HUG Round Table.
  • People First Groups are working on their constitutions.

Through the HCCF network people help each other:

Niall Smith from Caithness is helping HUG and People First Caithness with constitutions and has run a session on 'becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee'.

Ailsa Peck, our in-house trainer, has run local training sessions on 'Chairing Meetings'.
